Great work done by friends in Belgium for FOCHTA

As in past years, Danielle Moucq and her friends have been actively fundraising for FOCHTA in Belgium.

On March 8, a movie “Pride” was shown at the Cinema Vendrome, while in the same building, another show was shown to children. Over 80 people attended. Before the movie screenings, breakfast was served to all. 1850 euros raised.

On April 21, one hundred and thirteen golfers took part in a golf competition that was followed by dinner and tombola. 3315 euros were raised.

On November 15, a theatre play “Je T’aime” written by Sacha Guitry was held at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. The show was performed by a group of European Union Fonctionnaires (employees). Drinks and food were served to guests prior to the show. Over 106 people attended the performance. Upon the circumstance, it was a very large turn-out, as it was just two days after the Paris terrorist attack in Paris, with subsequent tensions in Belgium. 1822 euros was raised.

In addition, in September 2014, during the annual flea market that was held in an area south of Brussels, a large garage sale was organized in front of Danielle’s home. Danielle’s friend Andree Van Leer had to sleep over at her place as the sale started at 6:00am. Andree’s grandchild made a beautiful drawing to promote the event. 950 euros were riased.

FOCHTA would like to express its gratitude to Danielle, her friends Andree et Michel Van Leer, Martine Parmantier, Michele Velhulst, Michel Annez de Taboada, Francoise de Goussencourt for their untiring efforts; also to her children Alexander & Charlotte who were helping in the theatre organization.
