News from FOCHTA student Vincent Ngalande

My name is Vincent Nsambi Ngalande.  I am 22 years old. I come from Thyolo District. I am a first born in a family of four. My father and mother died when I was at primary school in 1999.

During my primary level of education I worked hard and then got selected to Thyolo secondary school. My life at secondary school was not easy because I had no one to pay for my school fees until a miracle happened when FOCHTA considered me as one of its beneficiaries.  At school, FOCHTA paid my school fees, examinations fees, school uniform and school shoes which I could not afford. Without FOCHTA, I could not be able to finish my secondary school education in 2010.

In 2012, I got selected to Machinga Teacher’s Training College. This is a year a two year course. FOCHTA has not left me as it is still supporting me at the college with transport and stationery.  It’s my expectation that after graduating, I will be able to help my siblings at home with basic necessities.
