FOCHTA & MSF agree to work together in Thyolo

In an effort to build its relationship with other development partners in Thyolo district, FOCHTA Director convened a meeting with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Head of Mission in Malawi on the 19th of December 2012.

The Agenda of the meeting was to enable FOCHTA explain to MSF on its HIV/AIDS impact mitigation programs in Thyolo. Such was the case since MSF’s main program in Malawi is HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment with emphasis on the provision of medication (ARV).

At the meeting, both MSF and FOCHTA understood clearly the activities of each other in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Thyolo and saw each other as soldiers in the same battle field.

While MSF take prevention and medication, FOCHTA emphasizes on prevention through dissemination of HIV/AIDS information among the youths in the district.

The two organizations have since agreed to work in collaboration against HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Of late, the HI/AIDS epidemic has contributed to retard development and poverty in Malawi.
