Letter of thanks from a FOCHTA beneficiary to a sponsor

Wilson Saikonde is a second year Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) student. He recently sent this letter to his sponsor, David Fan, who lives in Hong Kong.

“Dear David,

How are you doing?

I am now on a three-week holiday which will end on 9th April, 2012. There is something which I am doing this time: I thank God for giving me the ability to advise my fellow youths on how they can live successfully in their academic position. I am trying to approach each secondary student in villages that surround my village in Thyolo and tell them how they can spend time on their studies and also give them study techniques. I realised that most students do not do well because there are no such people called ‘role models’ who come & tell them things that make them get motivated, especially students who are learning in a typical village. In fact, I am happy, most students are now motivated and get convinced. However some are still coming to me seeking more information and other are taking there studies seriously.

Best regards,

Wilson”
