FOCHTA Introduces Primary school students reading program

Primary school students will be able to improve their reading skills in a new FOCHTA program. Students learn from books borrowed from FOCHTA’s Library.

The aim of the program is to improve reading, listening and writing skills of lower level primary school students. In the program, students are given books to read and also asked questions based on what they have read. They are then asked to summarise and answer questions from passages that they have covered. A FOCHTA staff member guides the students as well as marks their work.

Currently there are eight students from Luchenza Primary School who are benefiting from the program.
