Vocational Training Centre Principal Appointed
Golden Baluwa has been appointed by the FOCHTA Noard of Trustees to be the first principal of the FOCHTA Vocational Training Centre. Golden has started work on 1-4-2014 in preparation for the commencement of classes when the construction of the centre is completed. The ompletion date is scheduled for mid-June.
Golden, aged 39, had obtained a degree in Bachelor of Agriculture Extention at the Bostwana College of Agriculture. In addition to his expertise in new agriculture technologies and teaching/training of same, Golden has wide experience in managerial skills; doing community work and facilitating relevant community training sessions for orphans, youth and farmers.
Golden has worked for World Vision, The Samaritan, Stephanos Vocational Training Centre.
The employment of Golden ties in with the research done by TEVETA when it did a survey of the District of Thyolo in July 2013 and found that the first preference of people in this rural area was to have an agriculture-based course.
