The First Wedding Bells

FOCHTA is delighted with the announcement of the wedding of its first beneficiary Brenda Jeremia. Brenda, now 23, was first supported by FOCHTA in her secondary education, then went on to study at University of Malawi, obtaining a degree in Bachelor of Nursing & Midwifery in December 2013. She has been working at the Chiringa Health Centre’s maternity wing. Her job is with child-delivery, antenatal care, family planning, etc. There are a total of nine beds as most of the services are dealing with outpatients. The ward is run by four nurses with Brenda the only one with a university degree. There is no doctor or clinician in the hospital.

Brenda plans to get marryied on December 27th to Emmanuel Kampira, 27, who is an accountant working for a religious organization.

It has been a great pleasure for FOCHTA to have supported her education thus providing her with such a bright future. At the same time, she has always been very supportive of our projects. We wish them both all the best in their future married life.
