FOCHTA ENTERS INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH BICO

An agreement has recently been signed by FOCHTA with Blantyre Institute for Community Outreach or BICO. BICO is a non-government organisation that supports girls education, water and sanitation. In addition, BICO also promotes community eye-care. The agreement enables FOCHTA to have fundings in conducting a project on education for girls. This then will work side by side with the present education project for orphans that has been the core business of FOCHTA in the last fourteen years.

The new project will consist of supporting ten girls in their secondary school education; the distribution of five bicycles and ten solar lamps to girls; further training of qualified teachers and educational trips. Girls will also be taught how to make reusable pads.
