A letter from Simon Michael

On behalf of my fellow students at Chikolombe CDSS, I would like to thank Fochta for the job it does to students like me. Without your organization, I could not go ahead with my education. I know for sure there are many students who are looking forward for your assistance. Try your best so that you can as well assist them to achieve their goal.
May God bless your organization.
Long Live Fochta.

Why Our Work is Important

In Malawi there are many non-government organizations providing medical treatment for people infected with HIV/Aids, but little action taken to address their social and emotional problems.

During his visit, he was struck by the lack of social support for the young and old who were infected or affected by the pandemic, and decided, with the help of two friends there, to found Fochta. They are Dr. Leopold Buhendwa and Mr. Steven Labana, both working with Medecins Sans Frontieres.
From the outset, all three decided that the best way forward was to promote education, so that young people might have a future and the chance to escape from the poverty cycle.
