Violet, Our Shining Star

Against all odds, Violet Mulozi has graduated from Polytechnic of Malawi. Girl education is faced with numerous challenges in Malawi leading to many girls dropping out of school. Violet stands to be an achiever and role model despite all the challenges she had faced from being an orphan. She is a shining star to FOCHTA and the community at large.

FOCHTA started supporting Violet in 2008 while in Form 3 at Stella Marist secondary school. She passed MSCE with good grades that enabled her to pursue a Degree in Technical Drawing at the Polytechnic, a constituent University of Malawi in 2010.

Violet has been mentoring our student beneficiaries on many occasions. She has been acting as a role model to these female students so that they could follow her footsteps to success. This was done in school vacations through youth activities and other organized mentorship programmes.

While in her third year (2013), she did teaching practice at Thyolo Secondary school. During the period Violet taught two subjects: Technical drawing and mathematics for Forms 1 and 3. Violet says she is happy that FOCHTA has contributed a lot to her dream of being a teacher. As a teacher, Violet will continue mentoring students to excel with education.

FOCHTA thanks Mireya who is supporting Violet with university fees since 2010 and Claude Ho for his tireless support over the years.
