Two Aspiring Primary School Teacher College Students

Cecilia Kamwana, though not an orphan, has no father because after he and her mother divorced, she, as well as her six siblings were cared for by her mother and stepfather. Unfortunately, her stepfather died when she was studying Form One. She would have been forced to leave school had she not received help from FOCHTA.

After she completed her secondary schooling, FOCHTA continued to support her studies  at Chiradzulu Teachers Training College where she is just finishing her first year. Cecilia is bright and loves to sing in a choir. She had in the beginning wanted to be a nurse but is happy to study to be a primary school teacher because of her love of children.

Merolyn Spoon, another FOCHTA beneficiary is in her second year of a three year course studying also to be a primary school teacher. She has 3 siblings, with parents having passed away many years ago. She said she “always work hard in order to achieve my goals so as to assist my relatives and some needy children”.
